Asenovgrad (60 000 c) is in the West Thracian lowland - 170 km from Sofia and 19 km from Plovdiv. Here is the greatest congestion of cloisters, churches and chapels in the whole country. That’s why the town has the glory of "The small Jerusalem". More than 100 thracian burial mounds are in his environments discovered. Its old name – Stanimaka means defence of the passage. Through 1230 Bulgarian King Ivan Asen II bulwarks extends "The Asenova stronghold". The town is known with its wines too.

The Monastery of Bachkovo is found in 1083 by the Byzantines military commanders, brothers Gregori and Abazi Bakuriani. The monastery was patronized by Bulgarian King Ivan Aleksander. In the Bachkovo monastery there is a school from XI c. When Bulgaria was conquered by the Turkish here was begun to sharpen the Bulgarian patriarch Evtimi. Together with his disciples he developed an active religion and literary activity. Later the monastery followed the destiny of the other monasteries and it was rubbed and destroyed.

Smolyan is created in 1960 from the coalition of three villages. Ezerovo has been located among the Smolyan's lakes. In XVII c. the turks place the islam here and butcher some of the local population. The alien religion that has accepted is being peopled by Black river in new settlement Pashmakli. The name Smolyan deduces after the Liberation in honour of the slav tribe Smolyanes. The other villages are Raikovo (a craft centre), Ustovo (trade center).

Pamporovo is a modern ski-resort in the heart of Rhodopes. It’s situated in the foot of peak Snejanka (1926 m), 260 km. from Sofia. The winter is soft with 120 sunny days through the season. Ski-season begins from the middle of December and to the middle of April. The day temperatures are with a little different. The high tops stop the winds and save the snow through the season. This is the sunniest mountain resort. It’s impressive through the all year.
